Social Security Disability Lawyers Serving Cincinnati, Ohio
Donoff & Lutz, LLC represents Social Security disability claimants from Cincinnati, Hamilton County, and the surrounding southwest Ohio communities.
Cincinnati-area Social Security disability claimants may interact with several different Social Security offices depending on where they live and where their claim is in the process. For many people in Hamilton County and the surrounding area, the common local Social Security field offices include the Cincinnati Downtown office at 550 Main Street, the Cincinnati North office at 10205 Reading Road, the Hamilton office at 6553 Winford Avenue, and the Batavia office at 1050 Hospital Drive. Claimants in Northern Kentucky may also deal with the Florence, Kentucky Social Security office at 7 Youell Street. The correct office usually depends on the claimant’s ZIP code.
These local Social Security field offices handle many of the day-to-day parts of a disability claim, including SSDI and SSI applications, reconsideration filings, appeal paperwork, benefit verification issues, SSI financial updates, address changes, and other routine communications with the Social Security Administration. In many cases, SSA encourages people to use online services or make an appointment before visiting an office in person, but some disability issues still require direct contact with a local field office. We warn that we have experienced that the Cincinnati offices have slower processing times than other Social Security offices, and we recommend that claimants remain both patient and persistent in dealing with these offices.
If a Cincinnati-area disability claim reaches the hearing level, the case is normally handled by the Cincinnati Office of Hearings Operations. The Cincinnati hearing office is located in the John W. Peck Federal Building at 550 Main Street, Suite 4-510, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. This is the office where Social Security administrative law judges conduct hearings for many SSDI and SSI appeals from the Cincinnati region, including cases associated with the Cincinnati Downtown, Cincinnati North, Hamilton, Batavia, Florence, Kentucky, and Madison, Indiana field offices. For 2026, the Cincinnati Office of Hearings Operations has five assigned Administrative Law Judges, with approval rates that range from notably above-average to notably below-average. Because the hearings office is within the Peck Federal Building, we recommend that visitors allot additional time to go through the security screening process.
A Social Security hearing is different from a visit to a local field office. The field office generally handles applications, forms, and administrative updates. The hearing office schedules hearings, receives hearing-level evidence, and issues decisions after a case has been appealed to an administrative law judge. Donoff & Lutz, LLC represents Cincinnati-area claimants at all levels of the Social Security disability process, including applications, reconsideration appeals, hearings before administrative law judges, Appeals Council appeals, and federal court review.
Given the city's robust healthcare networks, especially the University of Cincinnati network, Cincinnati disability claims often involve medical records from a wide range of providers, including primary care doctors, hospital systems, specialists, mental health counselors, pain management physicians, physical therapists, and community clinics. We help claimants understand what evidence Social Security needs, gather and organize medical records, explain how their conditions affect daily functioning, and prepare for each stage of the disability process.
We help Cincinnati-area claimants with initial disability applications, reconsideration appeals, hearings before administrative law judges, Appeals Council review, and federal court appeals when appropriate. Whether you live in Cincinnati, Norwood, Blue Ash, Sharonville, Springdale, Montgomery, Madeira, Mariemont, Anderson Township, Delhi Township, Green Township, Colerain Township, Forest Park, Harrison, Milford, Loveland, Mason, West Chester, Fairfield, Hamilton, or another southwest Ohio community, you are welcome to contact our office. We can usually start by phone, review where your claim stands, and explain the deadlines, evidence, and next steps that matter most.
Although our office is in downtown Dayton, we regularly help people throughout Ohio with Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims, including clients from the Cincinnati area. You do not need to come to Dayton for every part of a disability case. Many parts of an SSDI or SSI claim can be handled by phone, mail, email, online systems, and video when appropriate. We understand that people applying for disability benefits may be dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, medication side effects, transportation issues, or financial stress. Our goal is to make the process as manageable as possible while still building the strongest case we can. Attorney Zachary P. Lutz was proudly born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati, and will happily discuss Cincinnati high school football.
